I search the archives...no joy. You've probably heard this one before, but I'll ask it anyway.
I've burned multiple files onto CD's as .mp3 format, using my MusicMatch player (please don't hurt me). I've recently discovered that my Sony Vaio laptop PCG-NV170 will not even play these CD's, let alone recognise the tracks on them. This holds true for any video files that are not .mpgs.
All of the players on my computer will play burned .wma CD's, as well as .mpg files on CD. However, when I insert a CD that contains .mp3 files, the CD drive will attempt to start it, but nothing happens.
I believe I used to be able to play these, so I suspect that something was changed with a Windows update or similar. These same discs that won't play and aren't recognised on my computer (Windows XP) run on my husband's computer (Windows ME) with no problems.
Thanks in advance.
