After 2 weeks from these errors , drive burned 4CDs succesfully… But now same errors again… It can read CDs without a problem… Is it Dead?.. :confused:

#2

i used to get the exact same thing from one of my burners, think it was a liteon or a optorite, anyways, i never figured it out, it would work fine for a while and then do that, eventually i replaced it, havent seen it with the past two burners i have had, one liteon and my new hp dvd writer

#3

need help… :confused:

#4

what do you have in the rest of your system and what make/model power supply do you have? other than a weak power supply, i would think the drive is on the fritz

#5

This is my PSU ;

System ;

Abit AN7
AMD Athlon 2000+
512MB Kingston DDR Ram
128MB Gigabyte 9800pro
Yamaha CRW-F1 CDRW
JLMS XJ-HD166S DVD-ROM

No overclocks…

#6

300W and a 16A +12v rail…

i am not gonna say this is the issue for sure, but i think you are pushing it as far as power, you see, with cheaper psu’s, they dont even put out the power they are rated at, usually 50-60% under load, which means your psu is likely putting out only 150W when the system is taxed burning a disc

i say either the drive is going, or the system is starving for power
