I’ve recently started getting reboot in XP when I start up games. XP tells me about the serious error and I report it. The reporting utility takes me to this page , which tells me a device driver caused the crash. However, this is all very nice but it doesn’t tell me which goddamn driver it is. Is there a way I can tell from the memory dump or error log?
You can check the error log list as per HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
If you want to stop the blue screen auto reboot so you can read the error message from the screen:
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System
Go to Advanced
Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings…
Under System Failure un-check “Automatically restart”
Thanks. For a while I started getting exception errors instead of reboots, but I managed to get the blue screen again and it was ati2dvag.dll (main ATI driver). Solved it by installing the latest SiS AGP driver (r1.12)
