On my system my 166S drive incorrectly reports all burnt DVD's as DVD-ROM booktype
Any ideas why this is happening?
AFAIK because it's not a DVD burner. It doesn't read the DVD media type. Just the booktype. Is this with -R's or +R's?. As long as it read's it I would be happy
The drive is not meant to report the booktype correctly...
yeah its just supposed to play them....
DVD-R is reported as DVD-RDVD+R is reported as DVD-ROM
Come to think of it, the 165H does the same.

Two were +R DVDs (CDSpeed 2.20 reported the disc manufactor too!)One was -R DVD PrincoOne was -RW DVD, correctly reported too
my 166s has no prob reporting correct booktypesVDS1C
