I won’t ask for details, but just confirm or deny…

I am investigating ways to backup my XBOX games and some sites report that a MOD chip for your XBOX is required for you to play back any backup. Some sites don’t reference a MOD at all.

Is this true that I will need to modify my XBOX’s hardware to play my backups?
