X-Men: The Last Stand

X-Men: The Last Stand

I want to buy this DVD but there are currently two versions out. One is the Collectors Edition with the Stan Lee comic book while the other is the regular Widescreen edition. Other than the comic book I can find no differences between both these editions. So, is it worth buying the Collector’s Edition just for the comic book?
Also, is there DTS ES 6.1 sound on the R1 discs now? Earlier release was just Dolby Digital 5.1. Can anybody confirm this?

Thx,
Aquarius

But I do remember seeing the same specs that you mention on Amazon last month. Also, Amazon shows the DVD Release Date as October 3, 2006! Is this a new version or did Amazon get it wrong? ??

Aquarius

The official release date in the US is 10.3.2006 so I believe it’s not a new version.

Available Audio Tracks: English (DTS 6.1 ES), English (Dolby Digital 5.1 EX), …
The Widescreen Edition shows DTS ES 6.1 and verified it in my Yamaha receiver as DTS ES and all 7 channels lighted. Additionally, the DD 5.1 EX is processed as 6.1 in normal mode/non matrix, which meets the DD 5.1 EX specs.

No, I belive you are correct. There are versions DTS-ES. I just have not gone and purchased the movie yet. I wait because I like to purchase the special editions because they do addons like DTS-ES. Having the DTS-ES feature is nice.
