Came back recently from downtown NYC. I cut some of my classes to see the procession of firefighters, police officers and construction workers pass by. A very somber moment full of symbolism such as the empty stretcher to represent the bodies that were never found and the riderless police horse. Many people were crying but most were just clapping and thanking the various uniformed officers. Man, it just seems like yesterday that I ran away from the concrete dust and the chaos. Now when I look down the block I see nothing but a clean work site. Amazing how people can pull together and finsh a task as demanding as this one in eight and a half months.

it looked very sombre on the telly when i was watching it. The empty stretcher was also very moving.

Great respect to all the people who tried to help.
