WTB: a good drive for doing pi/po/jitter scans

I’m looking for a drive that will be good for pi/pi/jitter scanning. It doesn’t
have to do anything else spectacularly well, since it won’t be my only drive.

All the drives people use for scanning seem to be a couple of years old, and no
longer available. I suppose I could hang out on ebay and try and snag one of these
senior citizens, but isn’t there something recent which I can buy retail or online
that would be good for this? Sorry if this is a FAQ…

Cheers,

Grab a liteon or benq burner

Thanks for replying, Chef. I have done a bit of research
and here is what I’ve found:

  1. The Benq DW 1655 will do pi/po/jitter but they seem to be hard to find.
Some people think its scans are a bit suspect.Note that later models e.g. the 1670
    don’t scan.

  2. The Lite-on LH-20A1P will do pi/po but not jitter, and is available.

  3. Lastly, the Plextor PX-760A will do pi/po/jitter, and is still available (though it’s expensive).

Did I miss any? Corrections are welcomed.

Losher

Yes, maybe take 2.

Also newer Samsung/TSST have that mediatek chipsets.

Liteons will now do jitter when using the latest versions of CD-DVD Speed.
