Writer stops with burning!

I'm using version 5.5.8.0 and Windows XP Pro Dutch. The problem is: when it starts burning the lead-in after about 20 seconds it stops with burning. I don't have that problem with Windows ME. Maybe is the WINASPI.DLL file broken?

#2

hi
the same error have i to
but the error is called medium speed error and i run on win xp pro nl with nero 5.5.8.0

#3

I have read somewhere that when running XP you should disable XP own burning engine. Someone called it “crippleware”. I run ME myself, so this is only what I read somewhere.

#4

Ray of Light,

Do you get an error message when the burn fails? Post the burn log so we can see the recorded errors.

#5

The led of the burner stops flashing and after 30 min. I’ll still get no error.

#6

Post the information in the NeroHistory.log file as explained in medium speed error.

The log file may give us a clue as to why the burn is failing.

The log file shows the operating system as WinME instead of the WinXP Pro you are using when the burn fails. Did you install Nero in WinXP Pro? If you don’t do this the operating system can’t identify the program properly and use the correct WinXP drivers and registry entries. Reinstall Nero in WinXP to the same directory used for WinME.

DMA should be enabled for the Pioneer DVD-RW and Toshiba DVD-ROM.

Sometimes I have the same problem in WinME. I can’t find that log in WinXP.
