Hi.Just upgraded today from my old Scsi Yamaha CRW 2100S to this new plextor but i just cant burn cds properly.I have had about 5-6 coasters now giving the error :“write error-Invalid Write state” etc etc…It has happened a few times now so does this sound like a problem with my writter?

I have kept a log from my last coaster.

Any ideas?

I am having the same problem with my creative recorder (with NERO).
I really don´t think it´s a hardware problem, because I am able to burn any CD-R, but I can´t burn any CDR-W.

Try to simulate a project with a CD-R and check the results.

I am only able to burn a CDR-W after a simulation using a CD-R.

This could be a media incompatibility problem. What media are you using? I would try a different, high quality brand of media.

Yes, the error log states this clearly, Next burn with a “brand” cdr will be most likely successfull !
avoid a “brand” like “Lenco” also, this is very bad media…:frowning:

i had a problem with my sony crx255e and nero 6 not burning. Error stated an invalid write state. I stumbled upon another forum and someone told me to defrag in safemode. I just defrag but not in safemode and restarted comp. Wala it BURNT! Give it a try.

Obviously people who search for a problem either through the forum search function, or a search engine – as I just did – will come across the post and potentially add a potential solution to the problem, like the guy before you did. The age of the post is irrelevant as long as information or issue involved is being updated.

Posts like yours (and mine) add nothing.

I’m sure there’s some setting on the back end to purge old posts if this is a major issue.

(And yes, do indeed find it quite amusing that I’m replying, in 2005, to your post written in 2003, concerning someone replying to a post from 2002. The issue still stands, however. ;))

I wonder what terms you used to find this thread then. I love it when people correct me, especially when they make the same mistake as me. But thanks for the tip, I’ll keep it in mind although since 2003 I already learned a lot more about being a Moderator.
