Write error benq 1620

I have problems with a brandnew Benq 1620 Pro. Using Nero it happens about 50 % of times that the DVD doesn’t get finished.

This seems to be the part of the log where the error occurs:

2 complete logs are also attached.

Win XP Home
Intel P4 2.66 GHz
256 MB RAM
DMA enabled

The System has just been re-installed a few days ago. So it actually shouldn’t be a software problem

Media used is the Benq DVD+R that was shipped with the Writer burnt at 8x.

Would be great if anybody knows what the problem is.

Thanx alot

Make sure you have a legit copy of the latest version of Nero and also try some different media. Benq DAXONAZ2 can be quite variable in quality. You could also post some Nero CD-DVD Speed quality scans of the discs that did complete successfully…

I am also having major problems with my BENQ 1620 Pro. I have DVD Shrink which I can use with either Any DVD or Decrcypter. The problem is I can make a single copy. When I try to back up my back Nero(Nero Smart) will either not recognize the disc or fail at approx 11%
What can I do?

have you enabled DMA?

then try to lower the writing speed. I found that i can finish all discs with 4x. With 8x some die.

If this doesnt work either try getting the Nero Full Version Trial from www.nero.com.

i was lying - now also 4x fail. returned the drive and am waiting for the exchange.
