Just bought a 50 pack of Memorex DVD+R DL 2.4x and I have made 5 coasters after updating 1clickdvd from 4.2.9.2 to 4.2.9.4. I am using DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and also running 21 day eval of AnyDVD 5.9.6.0. I am able to use media I bought from Frys that is there chepo brand, but the new Memorex has failed 5 times. Any help would be great.

thnx

Do you have the “dual layer” option checked?

@ calinsandiego,

Welcome to the Forum.

Suggest conducting a Forum search concerning the quality and reliability of Memorex DL Media and you will find that Memorex DL Media is considered problematic poor quality Media and should be avoided. The preferred DL Media is Verbatim.

Suggest visiting the CD Freaks Blank Media Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33) for information concerning good reliable quality DVD Media.

Also suggest viewing the below PC World article concerning DVD Burner Firmware

As pointed out in the above referenced article it is important to ensure that your DVD Burner has the most current up to date Firmware available installed.

Best Regards,
bjkg

@ calinsandiego,

Packet Writing Software Programs are noted to be very invasive and are notorious for causing numerous problems especially interfering with various CD/DVD burning programs. The following are examples of Packet Writing software programs –> Sonic DLA, Nero InCD, NTI FileCD, Roxio DirectCD/Drag-To-Disc, CE Quadrant Just!Burn, Sony abCD, InstantWrite, Backup4all, B’s Clip, NeoClip, InstantBurn. This is not an extensive complete list, there are numerous others. If you have ANY Packet Writing Software Programs installed strongly suggest to COMPLETLY remove them from your computer.

The definitive way to describe Media is to use the MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) (Example:TYG02). To obtain the MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) (Example:TYG02) of your DVD Media use a utility software program similar to DVD Identifier (http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com) or DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com)

If you are still using the known problematic poor quilt Memorex DL or the Frys chepo “Generic” brand DL Media most likely you will continue to experience Media write errors problems. You need to obtain known high quality Verbatim DVD+R DL Media.

Suggest performing a Forum search and you will note that the preferred Dual Layer (DL) Media is Verbatim DVD+R DL Media. Until you acquire known high quality DL Media you most likely will continue to have Media write errors problems.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Thanks for the help bjkg, I will try to get some verbatim and give it a go. Do you think my drive could be having problems? I am pretty sure I have no packet writing software installed but I will double check.

Thanks again for all your help, this forum is great!
