Wiring of a DVD Player to a Cable Box

I have gotten a RCA Memory maker DVD Player-Recorder for Christmas along with a Little Wonder Picture Recorder. The Little Wonder docks into the Memory Maker & records on to a DVD.The Memory maker has three plugs,Red,White & Yellow,I am trying to wire these to my Cable Box to no avail.I have tried the front plugs(Which dont work)and have pluged into the plugs in the rear of the box without success,Can some one tell me what to do?Bi the weay Hello to everyone, this is my first post.George!!

Red and White is for sound (stereo), Yellow is video. You need to plug them into OUTPUT plugs on your box, if any, and INPUT marked plugs on your Memory Maker. Colours should match.
On most boxes, front plugs are INPUT.
