I was also thinking of going power line for my AV so I am not draining my network. You want to talk slow a PS3 playing COD, me downstairs trying to stream Netflix, the older kid in her room and iTunes and the wife screaming her Facebook is slow. I need a router that can take this bandwidth.
I can say that the 3700 does well with video streaming. I can stream 1080p without a hitch from another computer on our network while two other people are surfing the web. I don’t stream video from Netflix etc. but I am pretty sure it can handle whatever your Internet connection speed might be and a lot of data transfer internally too aside from that.
Just make sure all your wireless dongles etc. have dual range capability to take advantage of the higher frequency channels. Actually, you can probably throttle use of some computers by limiting them to the 2.4ghz bandwidth. Most newer laptops have dual range “N” cards in them but many USB dongles don’t have dual range capability.
