WinX DVD Ripper Platinum Takes Hours to Rip

Time to rip a DVD is 125 % to 175% length of movie.

Example: 2 hours plus to rip a 1 1/2 hour movie today.

Tested with 5 DVDs. Rips are perfect, but as noted, process takes hours per DVD.

Used/using default rip to "MP4 video" profile within the the general profiles "output profile" selection options.

Windows 10
No other software running
Additionally, disabled a number of background apps in order to optimize PC speed, during Windows 10 setup last year/2015.

Granted, using a 2013 laptop might be a huge, or no, contributing factor. Outdated/slow processor? Even though RAM is small, it should not be an issue, as no other apps running. However, all other applications on laptap are fast. Zero issues, spyware etc.

Hi mp797ga,

Thank you for using this program. Considering what you mentioned, here are two tips for your reference:

  1. Choose MP4 with MPEG4 codec, usually faster than MP4 with H.264 codec;
  2. You can also try to use DVD Backup mode;

If it still doesn’t work, please feel free to reply here or email support@winxdvd.com We’ll try our best to solve your problem ASAP. :slight_smile:

I’m having a similar problem.

Worked great with the free trial 5 to 10 minutes to rip a DVD. Purchased platinum and now taking longer to rip than it does to watch the movie,
