Just saw this on Warp2Search. The windowsupdate.com server switched from Windows Server 2003 to Linux yesterday. Can’t help but bask in the irony.
I don’t think the site is up anymore. I can’t access it. I can access many other sites, so I don’t there is any problem with my pc.
Also I don’t khow if that is an office MS Windows Update site: I thought http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com was the official one and I can still access that.
Lol, no its not a site for updating microsoft software. It just monitors sites and among others it can tell you which operating system the site’s server runs on.
It’s not the first time that MS uses non-MS serversoftware for their servers. I know that Hotmail ran on BSD servers for a long time (there where quite some issues when they switched to Win2k servers)…
Anyhow… it still prooves something
Yes it does, doesnt it?? The Linux is running the AkamaiGHost site or was at one time…
