Windows update stuck

I have a computer I loaded W10 on and started the “check for updates”. Windows downloaded one update, started downloaded the second update and then froze at 17%. I have turned off the computer and rebooted several times and even turned of the computer one time and disconnected the power cord for 30 seconds. Nothing works.

So, how can I get Windows updater working. Thanks.

This works quite well for resetting Windows Update.

If a certain update keeps getting stuck, Google its KB number and download the standalone update so you can install it manually.

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry guys I try to end my posts with an explanation of what fixed the problem but sometimes forget.

In this case I don’t know what fixed the problem. I had resigned myself and one day I booted the computer and received notice that updates was downloading.
