I have tried and tried to fix this problem… First I went into regedit and deleted all of the upper and lower files. Then I set up export.bat and fix.reg codes to no avail. Microsoft has no answers for me and I am at my wit’s end with this. Here is what I get when I check the registry:

guess I should’ve mentioned… been there… done that… and did not even get a lousy T-Shirt for my troubles… I keep checking the registry and there are no upper or lower filters… I uninstalled the device and then the drivers… rebooted the computer and let Windows reinstall the drivers and still get the yellow exclamation point next to the device. and yes… the code 41 is still there.

Hi,

please try if reinstalling the IDE or Sata controller your drive is connected to, does help.
