Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available.

This error message occured after I attached a hatachi 2t Hatachi external hard drive, Files in the hard drive play but this message comes up if I try to use the media library or any of the playlists ect. CAn someone help BJT

What happens if you ‘eject’ and unplug the external HDD?..Sorry can’t help with WMP…It’s just not my cup of tea…:o
Have you considered an alternative?..Just asking, is all…:cool:

How did you play the files the first time?

Have you “managed libraries” to include the external drive?

Is it files on the external drive that you are having issue with playing from WMP?

What version of WMP?

WMP11? Vista or XP?

WMP12 (Windows 7)?

What specific kind of file?

Audio? Video? what file type (extension?)?
