Is there any way I can load Windows ME on to my hard disk by using the ME Upgrade CD, or do I have to use the full version.
You can use the Upgrade CD to install Windows ME onto a PC that has no Windows installed (clean install).
You boot with the Windows ME setup disk and when you are at the point that it will ask for a previous version of Windows (which you need to have in order to have a rightfull installation of an Upgrade). You can then put the Windows 98 disk you must have lying around somewhere in the CD-ROM player. The setup will check whether it is a rightfull CD and then continue with the setup from the Windows ME upgrade CD (assuming you have put it back after the CD check).
There are some workarounds for this, but I don’t know how these work…
