"windows cannot varify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device"

I am tearing my hair out over this.

I had a LG BH10LS30. Stopped working, device manager was giving me this error “Windows cannot verify the digital signature fro the drivers required for this device”.

Rang LG they cannot help me. Months went by and my need to use my dvd drive increased. I bought a new one. An LG BH14NS40

I have the same-fking-problem.

I re-seated the drive 5 times, I even used a brand new cable. I have uninstalled, re-installed, everything.

BIOS stopped seeing the device, found out why, fixed it. Bios sees the device, windows does not.

Uninstalled the drivers manually from device manager, and I still get this: http://i.imgur.com/izjVQJU.jpg

I am running windows 7/64

I rang LG again, can’t help me.

I found this website: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/plextor-px-b320sa-dvd-burner-error-code-52/348a3301-b632-470a-81d2-f27335505d85?msgId=edd21415-7499-422b-9a43-92f7a37c76a9

Does not work.

I ran windows fit it. Does not work.

The drive opens/closes. I can boot into the drive (but then it just boots into windows).

I ran web search after web search after websjsdfkjnsdf klsnjdf sjnd

Sorry, got carried away there.

Anyway, here is a link to my thread on reddit:

Was gunna just stick to it and I plan to, but I found a link to you guys, and decided to give you a try. I joined up, and searched and searched. I cannot find a possible solution.

Oh, except maybe perhaps this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff544865(v=vs.85).aspx

But I have absolutely no idea wtf that website is going on about.

So I conclude, I wasted my money buying a new drive. And the issue is most likely a driver signing issue. To which I fail at finding a solution to.

I ran sfc /scannow and found no errors, I also did diskcheck, no errors.

Running out of hair to rip out!

Any help would be a welcome smile to my day!!

Thank you in advance!

Found solution. Won’t delete thread as I believe its the only one of its kind on this forum.

Link to solution, my thread on Reddit, will re-post here

The code 52 is a digital signature. My error most likely occurred during a windows update last year, but I found evidence that upgrading OS can cause this.
If you have this issue, refer to these websites:
http://www.thebitguru.com/blog/view/308-Windows%20cannot%20verify%20the%20digital%20signature%20for%20the%20drivers%20required
http://www.ngohq.com/?page=Files&go=giveme&dwn_id=826
On the second link a file to download, this allows you to manually sign the driver.
Before you fuck with your system files, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlPEa3WK8GU
