[qanda]This thread is about the Pioneer DVR-115D / DVR-1910. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Replaced internal DVD today as previous one stopped working. Have done this before and found it easy as. With the Pioneer DVR-115D today though, the computer recognises it on the device manager but says that windows cannot start the device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. I have tried everything I can think of (uninstalling and reinstalling, downloading a new driver - which says “available target is not found”, paid for a driver scan and download program which was a waste of money and have run registry scans. Any other ideas or do I have to throw it away and buy another brand and try again.

Is there an error code number in Device Manager for the Pioneer?
You have downloaded a WRONG FIRMWARE.
First fix the recognition problems, buy an 80 wire ide cable and use it.
