Windows 8 install broken

I had bought VeloSSD Professional and used it for a couple of days (2.0.1.2) and Windows 8 update ran and updated. After the update I got instant BSOD upon restart.

My computer configuration is:
Dell Inspiron 13z (5323) (500GB HDD)
128 GB Crucial M4 MSATA SSD

I had made the entire SSD a cache (write back). I used safe mode to boot in and remove the cache. Then when I tried to start again I still had a BSOD. Then I followed the guide to fixmbr, delete any VeloSSD registry entries and deleted the VeloSSD.sys file in system32/drivers. Still BSOD.

Now I can’t even reach safe mode. Any tips? How do I recover? I tried physically removing the SSD and it still won’t boot.

Make sure you have followed the guide correctly,
because it is not about fixmbr but fixboot.

We have several Windows 8 installations running 2.0.1.2 for months including all Ms updates / patches. They all boot & run correctly.

I tried both but I will try again.

Also it appears to BSOD due to a driver error. The BSOD error is 0x000021a or 0x0000021a (I forget how many 0’s).

there is only BSOD code 0xc000021a,
The description suggests you
should try last known good
via advanced boot options menu.

Version 2.0.1.4 is available that solves problems with Windows update.
