I installed Windows 7 tonight and have been messing with it for a couple of hours. I am fairly impressed with it. Especially since it is a beta copy. Of all things I am having trouble with an HP plotter driver and an older HP 2100M laser printer driver. All the Canon drivers I need work great as did the drivers for the cards and hardware inside the case. Overall the installation went smooth.
This version is fast. Much faster than the 32 bit version of Vista. I even tried the 64-bit version of Windows 7 and bailed on it after the installation completed due to driver problems for some older devices I need. The 32 bit version isn't that far behind the 64 bit version regarding speed, IMO. This is just based on a quick assessment between them. I must say that I'm really impressed so far. If it proves to be as good as it seems initially, I will be leaving XP when the final version hits the market and I didn't expect to be saying this at all. It is worth a look, IMO. I'm anxious to hear what others think that are using it.
