I think what he was saying is the pre order isn’t open to anyone outside the USA.
Good pick up for that price for you though.
Thanks Slayerking, I missed that.

slayerking must be mistaken, or brokenbuga in post #40 is mistaken. One or the other has to be wrong.
slayerking must be mistaken, or brokenbuga in post #40 is mistaken. We won’t be getting the good deals you guys get either
UK presale begins July 15th. I imagine the rest of Europe will begin roughly same time frame.

I still think they have it best, No preinstalled IE and no upgrade, full version only.

It sucks to be us, lol.
It is so difficult to install Firefox or Opera or Bing or any other software. Pretty soon they’ll just close down Microsoft because it is made in the U.S.A. and run Ubuntu or Kunta Kinte or something like that.

i know those 10-15mb IE takes up steals so much hard drive space. we are doomed.

prediction for future, European Union sues MS because windows includes wordpad. Competition for OpenOffice.

Here’s a chance to win a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. Its a four line survey from Microsoft: http://blogs.technet.com/stephenrose/ The link is at the top of the page.

Deadline is 12pm PST June 30th.

Thanks Kerry.
I’m not usually one for surveys/contests, but on this one, it took me longer to type my name than complete the survey…:stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, I noticed that newegg was sold out of the $49.99 Home Premium upgrade.
Last night, I grabbed a Pro upgrade for $99.99. It was my first choice anyway.

Thanks Kerry
That was one quick survey.

mainman
I got 1 of each yesterday, not surprised they are sold out already.
I bet ole Bill is smiling all the way to the bank.

Bill is the bank.
Bill is the bank.
I agree 110% :iagree:
I still need 3 to 5 more upgrade pack ( only One Upgrade pack Last week from Micro Center ) Sigh

I have XP, Vista and 7 but I rather stay with XP for the time being.

I will have to agree with you on this one. XP has been fine tuned after SP3 and
everything in it seems to be working quite well. Vista has too many quirks and 7
has not seemed to repair all of them in my eyes. There are simply to many hoops to jump through when trying to do the simple things that were never an issue before. The biggest thing for me so far has been some ownership of files stuff.
Long Live XP!!!
budzos

It seems to me Microsoft is punishing US Vista Ultimate users in addition to European users, Neckrosoft13

I’ve been using XP till I saw win7 working on a friends machine, now I’m running 7100 and so far most everything works well, pretty happy with it.
It has a few glitches but I can live with it and I’m sure it will get better as they get close to a final version.
Been running the 32 bit version so all my older stuff continues to work.

Windows Secret’s article at http://windowssecrets.com/2009/07/16/01-Some-versions-of-Windows-7-worth-it-others-not/#story1 should give those considering the shift to Win7 some food for thought.

Also, “Microsoft’s Win7 upgrade promo shut down early” (http://windowssecrets.com/2009/07/16/03-Readers-suggest-ways-to-improve-OpenDNS/#known1) provides some slim hope of another possible MS Win7 upgrade promo before Oct.'s general release… :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah, well - somebody wake me when it’s time for “Mister Ed”… (z-z-z… snort… z-z-z)

i have preordered win7 pro E retail (UK) for £99

this version does not have IE bundled with it

Here in Germany, the pre-order offers were sold out after a few minutes

I have just read all the posts in this thread and something that has not been said (at least I didn’t see it) is that Vista Home Basic does NOT qualify for the Windows 7 upgrade.

I just bought an ACER notebook (with Vista Home Basic) thinking I would be able to upgrade in October. Wish ACER would let me upgrade to Home Premium so I could do the Windows 7 upgrade, but I guess that is not possible. Bummer.
