Hopefully this means that Microsoft will release fairly up to date Windows installation media.

For example, the latest installation media for Windows 7 only includes Service Pack 1, which was released February 2011. This means the user must install 100s of updates just to bring it up to date. I would imagine the same is gong to happen with Windows 8.1 over time where those faced with reinstalling it will have a lengthy list of Windows updates to install.

Just place your credit card into the MS reader and you’ll be charged for every disk access even while loading the OS - the ultimate MS dream!

good luck!

Win7 will be the last MS OS for me

At the rate they are going it might just end up that way for most people…downgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 7…and hopefully a later Windows XX will learn some needed lesson… :Z :Z :Z

Microsoft is spoiling give the basic OS away free and CHARGE – or $$ PAYWALL $$ updates, support and other valued services.
Good luck with that… because all those Pirates that you think you’ll get money from with that strategy STILL aren’t paying a cent!
