Win XP BSOD and boot loop after moving swapfile

vbimport

#1

Hello EliteBytes,

i am using Win XP and moved the swapfile from SSD to HDD C:.
Now windows crashes on booting and I am caught in a boot loop.

1st step:
HDD C: with system and boot
SSD V: with swapfile

2nd step:
install VeloSSD an create cache for HDD C: on SSD V:
shutdown and boot works fine

3rd step
disable swapfile on SSD V:
enable swapfile on HDD C:
shutdown works, booting crashes with BSOD an immediate reboot.

I am caught in a boot loop. “Abgesicherter Modus” and “Letze als funktionierend bekannte Konfiguration” does not work too.

Hello jgrob,

I´ll try to help, please give some more info:
how much ram ?

To fix the machine:
You just need to remove the VeloSSD Lowerfilter entry in registry.
To do so boot with DVD so you can use a registry editor, as explained.

I know that XP Boot Cd has no regedit so you need to use a Vista or later DVD.

We will try to reproduce this. And come back later.

Win XP uses 3 GB RAM of 4GB RAM installed.

I used BartPE boot CD with included regedit to remove the VeloSSD LowerFilter entry in system registry.
