Win DVD problem

I recently reinstalled Windows along with WinDVD Platinum, and I am now getting this error when I start WinDVD:

When I clickc okay when the error pops up, the program crashes, as seen here:

I have tried reinstalling WinDVD to no avail, so i’m looking for some insight on what may be the problem.

what version of windows are you using?

I guess I should probably add my system specs too. :stuck_out_tongue:

Athlon XP 2500+
512MB OCZ EL PC3200
ABIT NF7-S rev2
2 Optical Drives
80GB 8mb cache WD HDD

was SP2 on windows before you reinstalled?

Yes, I my previous install had SP2 on it as well.

Basically what the error is telling you is that the application is looking for an ASPI layer which is rather odd if that version of WinDVD is for XP since XP doesnt haave an ASPI layer. your version doesnt look like a newer version of WindDVD how old is it? was it on your system under another version of windows and you “upgraded” to XP prior to this?

Remove this program and try another, like PowerDVD. You may want to shutdown all other applications using ENDITALL PRIOR to launching WinDVD.

Alright, here’s an update. I found out I only had WinDVD 4, so I uninstalled
it and installed WinDVD 6. The ASPI error disappeared, but I still get:

I tried PowerDVD or whatever, and it works fine, but I don’t like it.

What if you copy WNASPI32.dll to Windows/System32, same error?

It worked! Thank you SOOO MUCH!
