Hi
Welcome onboard scoopyboy & BurnOmania. :iagree:
Not included in the top 5 is the Pioneer DVR-115(D).
Simply because it wasn’t available.
So IDE drives Pioneer DVR-112(D) 0r 115(D). Maybe LG GSA-H55(N)(L).
SATA drives.
Samsung SH-S203(B)(N) etc or LG GSA-H62(N)(L).
Could also add Pioneer DVR-215(D).

Look for them sales too!

thanks guys. think i’ll try LG H44 first. Hope it will do the trick.
What is with Plextor ? i heard they going to stop the line for the optical drives. is it true ? I have plextor CD-RW drive burnd over 2000 and still working like a charm.

It is right Plextor stopped producing own drives since begin of 2007. The PX-755/760 were the last real Plextor drive. Depending on your location it may be hard to find a new / used PX-760. The PX-760SA for example was never available in Region 1, only the PX-755SA.

Here is a lift of avaiolable Plextor drives seperated in “true Plextors” and "rebagged Plextors"
Plextor List

I’d recommend the Samsung SH-S202 or SH-S203 depending on the interrface (IDE / SATA). This drive is also available with or without lightscribe. The price should be the same if you choose the lightscribe or non lightscribe version! The newer Samsung ODD seems to be very reliable and the results are also good with different media.

Really super helpers here…I Appreciate you guys for your kind support…

That’s a very good drive - where did you find it?

I also agree with people’s suggestions of a Pioneer 112D. Haven’t tried the 115D yet.

112D - $29.99 plus shipping

115D - $29.99 plus shipping

115D - $31.99 + $5.84 shipping - more expensive but it’s newegg not meritline

Thank you for the info. You’re right I couldn’t find PX-760 here no matter how I tried. My sec. choice was Lite-On but I was so disappointed from 20A1 (replaced it 3 times) so decided to move on and pick other one. I thought to take the LG H44 but I couldn’t find it in Retail stores. Finally I pick LG GSA-H55L hope I didn’t make a foolish step
