Will Not Play DVD Says In Pal Format

I recently borrowed a DVD from a friend and when I tried to play the movie my DVD player says it cannot play because it is in Pal format.

I used DVDFab V6.2.2 to make a backup copy (removing Region Code and RCE 5) thinking it came from the UK and now it says it has the wrong region.

Tried Again removing RCE 2. Same results.

Info From DVD On Hard Drive:
Disc type: Video DVD
Disc region: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Video standard: PAL

CSS (Content Scramble System) protection is not found.
RC (Region Code) protection is not found.
RCE (Region Code Enhancement) protection is not found.
APS (Analog Protection System) protection is not found.
UOPs (User Operation Prohibitions) protection is not found.

Invalid PTTs protection is not found.
Invalid PGCIs protection is not found.
Invalid PGCs protection is not found.
Invalid TMAPs protection is not found.
Invalid CELLs protection is not found.
Invalid VOBUs protection is not found.
Fake vts protection is not found!
Bad sector protection is not found!
Structure protection (ARccOS, RipGuard, etc.) is not found.

PathPlayer is enabled!
Unplayable cell is not found.

Any suggestions?

Hi roadking2003

DVDFab will not change the format from Pal to NTSC, you can use a program called DVD Flick to convert it…it is freeware

Thanks for the info.

Just a question, SJ… will DVD Flick really do the conversion??

Everything I’ve read indicates no… I usually use ConvertXToDVD…

Just try it - dvdflick is free…

Hey Tor

About time you came out of the woodwork
I have used DVD Flick many times to do this, after you load DVD Flick click on “Project Settings” and on the left side click on “Video” then at the very top there is a setting you can select the format(Target Format) just make sure NTSC is in the dropdown window

Not bad for freeware

Your question will take this thread off topic :frowning:

however if you wish to take this to the following thread http://club.myce.com/f116/dvd-fab-products-discussion-thread-210538/
I’m sure it can be discussed
