Will my ps2 play this:

Hi there. i have had my ps 2 for nearly a year now, and i have just brought a Philips DVDR1640k and was wondering if it would play backup copies of my films (useing imation plus and/or minus media), i have got nero burning rom 6.6.0.3 and nero vision express 3.0.1.14.

Any ideas.

ps2 info:

Console: SCPH-50003
Cd Player: 2.00
Playstation Driver: 1.11
DVD Player: 3.00E

You might want to double check what version it is as their are two PS2's with that model number unfortunately a v4 & a v5/6.

PS2's from version 5 onwards support both the - & + formats however the v4's if I remember correctly have DVD-R/RW support & some what shaky DVD+R support and no DVD+RW support.

Have a read of here and it should tell you which one it is.
