this question may be answered in another thread somewhere, but i have read through quite a few solid burn threads and did not find it.
hopefully it's a simple question:
I have mcc03rg20, which is in the BenQ 1655's default media table. However, the default writing strategy for the drive gives me marginal burns. Using QSuite, I switch Solid Burn to On/On, and after three burns, the mcc03rg20 scans are looking great. Qsuite shows that the learning of the disc is stored in the EEPROM. I switch Solid Burn to Off/On. The learned strategy is still in the EEPROM.
Question: Will the drive continue to use the learned strategy every time I burn an mcc03rg20? Or, since solid burn is off for supported media, will the drive now revert back to using the default strategy?
I don't actually have these discs yet, otherwise I would test myself. I can get them at a good price though, but it seems that they vary so Solid Burn is needed. I don't like the idea of always leaving Solid Burn to On/On.
