i found this on some reviews from a site
[B]Buy these according to colour of label.
The spindles and boxes in purple generally are made in India, are of mediocre quality, and burn at a maximum of 6x.
The spindles and boxes in orange generally are made at Verbatim's own facility in Singapore, are the best quality Dual Layer discs available, and burn at a maximum of 8x to 10x.
Choose wisely. And make sure to check where it was manufactured.[/B]
. These discs are MII (Made In India). This batch is NOT what is shown on this web site here. The packaging is different and the DVDs are silver not the "pink" DVDs. The ITEM NO. are the same however. I spoke with a rep here and they said the only sell what their distributor sends them. They should change the site to reflect the these different discs. They Burn at 4x and verify at 6.
The Discs do appears to id like the pink ones:
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R-DL:MKM 001-000]
Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R DL] - [DVD+R DL]
Manufacturer Name : [Mitsubishi Kagaku Media]
Manufacturer ID : [MKM]
Media Type ID :
Product Revision : [Not Specified]
Blank Disc Capacity : [4,173,824 Sectors = 8.55 GB (7.96 GiB)]
Recording Speeds : [2.4x]
So far both projects I've burned appear ok. But I haven't watched fully yet.
JUNK! JUNK! JUNK!!
Tech Level: somewhat high
Ownership: more than 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: The past, and only that.
Cons: Forget my previous review that made in Ind worked at 2.4x, now they are all failing to burn the layer break! What junk! The last 6x made in Sing had several bad discs also. These discs always used to burn without a problem on either of my burners.
Other Thoughts: I wonder ...
know i found this, the pictures on this site seems to be the correct ones, but the package still the same , the main difference is on the pink reflect and no silver effect, but i dont know if that disc is from that package
sadly there is no defense for this, look this comment for this thread
my DVD's Just arrived, they have Sent Made in India spindles even though they have mentioned Media Code: MKM001 on there order page
i have also mentioned in the comments while placing the order that i need only MIS & not MIS
can i return them back ? wat is to be done, scared on burning MII DVD DL
so what do you think? what is the orange label? i saw it with a DVD-R or DVD+R from verbatim but never on a DVD+R DL pack, and those orange version had a ritek01 id if im not wrong, so this is truly happening? i really need to buy the carton box version or this is gona be a hell of money and burns, cuz even the singapur ones are having this problems
