I have similar problems like you after upgrading to FW 1.13. A spiral mark is burnt on one of the cheap brands (HATRON) I used. The PI/PO values at the location of the mark are exceptionally high. The disc cannot be read at that point in my Liteon 165H (CIRC error in Nero CDSpeed). However, another disc of same brand in same batch can be burnt with fairly good result in my firned's A07XLA with FW 1.13. I cannot figure out why this happens.
Actually, I have similar problems like 'bpm' and 'BQuick'. I have returned the drive twice to the shop and get a new one. But I still face the same problem...
And now, I have changed the IDE cable to a shorter (0.45m) ATA133 cable and plug the Pioneer the slave slot. Then re-flash the drive with firmware 1.13 with DVRFlash. The results seems to be better now. HATRON disc still cannot be used. But it can burn
another cheap brand (SKY) with an acceptable result. (Note: I have wasted more then 20 cheap discs to figure this out) I guess changing the IDE cable to a better one might help.
Now, although the drive can burn SKY disc with an acceptable result, I still don't trust the drive. This is because my friend's A07 with FW 1.13 can burn HATRON disc well, but my drive still can't.
Can some expert in this forum help me to sort the problems out?
Sorry for my poor English.
