Why is my LTR-24102B faster in Alcohol 120%?

When I burn in CloneCD my top speed is 24.06x, but when I use Alcohol 120% I get 29.5x.
I found that very odd since the burner is only a 24x.

First I didn’t believe in it, thought Alcohol 120% was measuring the speed wrong but when I checked the time I saw that Alcohol 120% actually did burn faster. Same image file took about 20-30s less time in Alcohol 120%.

Am I the only one that has this experience?

Hmm, this increased speed of 29.5x is 123% of 24x.

Pretty close, so I guess they settled for Alcohol 120% instead of Alcohol 123%.

Must be magic for a 24x burner to do this.
