Why is a no CD crack bad or illegal? If I purchase a original copy of a game and put it only on one computer why can’t I choose to run it without the CD? I only ask this because where I got my computer now it’s high up and I really hate changing CD’s every time I want to play a different game:( . It has always been frustrating topic for me when people that sell a product make it harder to use for some dumb reason. If someone didn’t care about the law against using it in more than one computer they could just copy the CD so what’s the point of the CD check? Sorry if I’m ranting lol. Thanks for any replies:)

Because when you run this NOCD crack, it disables the copy protection, which allows software piracy. Whereas, if you made a 1:1 copy, you do not remove the protection ;).

Because you are modifying the copyright program without the permission of the copyright holder (this is so whether or not there is a EULA).

Further, inevitably there will be a EULA which you have agreed to by installing the program and, again inevitably, it will forbid the modication or reverse engineering of the program.

Thanks for the replies. It’s just annoying for me to do a “full” install of a game and not be able to run it without putting the CD in every time. Believe it or not an update to one of my favorite games made it so I didn’t have to put in the CD  A legal no CD patch:p

If you have enough hard disk space, you could make an image of the CD, then use a virtual drive such daemon tools to run the program unmodified.

Cracks are bad and illegal for several reasons

Think of it this way. There are people who work the crap out of themselves to make something and put food on the table. When someone comes and doesnt pay for that software, that is less money that can go back to research and devlopment to make the applications and games better than they are.

Another reason is if you run a crack and a trojan gets launched on your computer and it crashes, whos fault is it. Not the person running the site. You are. So think about the next you do use a crack. About a 1/3 of the viruses and trojans are a direct result of this.

And most places it is illegal to use them
