I’m still new to some of this, so please bear with me here.
I did a smart scan and my DW1655 actually says it’s OK to write at 16x, 12x, and 4x, but @ 8x. This is with OverSpeed turned on, of course. If it’s turned off, it just says OK to write @ 4x and 2.4x, but not 8x.
However, what I don’t understand is why QSuite says it’s not recommended to write either at 16x or 12x after doing a “normal (default)” or “full” scan.
Don’t these results seem to contradict each other, or is the “smart” scan less accurate since it says at the bottom “The result is acquired thru measuring TE/FE value at certain point on the outer track”?
In the screenshot, since TE is deviating when the scan is almost complete, doesn’t that mean it is deviating on the outer track? Below is a “full” scan that shows what I’m talking about (very similar results on 1650).
