Why can I burn CDRWs but not CDRs? >~<

I’m using a Lite-on 32123S CD-RW drive. I’ve tried lots of stuff…upgrade firmware to R32XS0Z, update nero from 5.5.7.8 to 5.5.10.56, reduce writing speed, turn off smart-burn, but i still get the error message like “could not perform end track” or “lead in/out”. but i have no such problems with CDRWs…just CDRs! this is so weird. can anyone help me out?

To see if it’s a media issue, have you tried a different type of CDR media yet?

I’ve tried e-blue blue color cds, they give some write error and end suddenly in the middle. same for black color cds
now i tried greenish silver color cds and they write the data from beginning to end but cannot end track.
the blue and black cds were burned before the firmware and nero update. so i have solved just part of the problem, since i can write all of the data successfully, but i’m still getting errors because of the lead in/out error

Could you post the manufacturer information from the discs you have tried? You may use Smartburn media identifier (check the sticky thread) or similar program for that.

all of the CDRs were manufactured by eblue

for the greenish silver cd, the label has “expert type” and ET-40A printed on it, and the info from smartburn is
