Why bitesetting is useful ? I searched a litle but found too much threads having bitsetting talk…
You may get additional compatibility to your standalond DVD player and DVD-Rom drives. Some players doesn’t accept DVD+R(W) media but they are deceived by bitsetting that they are reading regular DVD-Rom media.
Some(in fact most) drives reads DVD-Rom faster than DVD+R. If you let the drive think they are reading a DVD-Rom disc, you can save time reading data. (The enhancement depends on drives, and your media must be good enough for fast reading, but nothing to lose.)
Yeah I’m interested in it too NGT, what I’ve found for information is just that it’s a good replacement when +r or +rw won’t work.
