One of the options :

How do these Memorex black CDRs work as audio CDs.

I own a Yamaha CRW-F1 (USB) CD-RW drive and would probably burn CD compilations @ 4x using Audio Master mode.

Specific comments about sound quality, compatability with various CD players, and reliability (does this mean C1 and C2 errors) would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is the Nan Ya Plastics CD factory any good? Comparable to Ritek?

Sorry, I’m not a big help here, since I’ve never had a chance to test them. I just store up some media.

Besides, it’s hard to say for certain if that was the manufacturer -
we have to wait and see what happens when the next version of MInfo is released.

As for Audio, there could be an excellent choice if you tried using media made by Taiyo Yuden.

Here is the atip from some Memorex Black 48X purchased at Future Shop here in Canada.

ATIP: 97m 32s 19f
Disc Manufacturer: Prodisc Technology Inc.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 72f / LBA: 359847)

I have had good results with other Prodisc in the past, but I have found that Memorex uses many different companies to produce their cdrs. My favorite are the few spindles of TY made Memorex (not black)that I found a few months ago.

Nan Ya is :Z

I’ve tested a number of spindles, and they’re great. In the NY/NJ area,a spindle of 50 can be found for $22…hope this helps
