Who makes 708a drive?

A friend of mine told me plextor 708a is made my liteon is that true or is he full of it. ?

The 708A is manufactured by Plextor, tell your friend he's mistaken

Most of the Plextor drives are manufactured by Plextor. There are a few exceptions like the PX-504A which is made by NEC. The PX-708A is a 'true' Plextor drive as Hemispasm already said.

I didn't think it was true, because thats all plextor makes is drives. I hate when people make excuses just so they can talk them selfs into buying a cheaper product.

and if it was true then you would think the reviews would be the same for liteon and plextor but they are not.
