I’ve got a quick quesion here.I just bought a single DVD of a show I always watched. The DVD consists of all the episodes of an entire season. Now when i purchased it,I thought to myself,“Maybe all the episodes are in MPEG4 or something.Cuz they can all fit in a single dvd” When i got home and popped the cd into my computer.I was shocked to discover that they were all in AVI format! To test out the disc,i popped it into my standalone dvd player. It works! The cd just started off right away like any other cd.Im awed…Can anyone tell me how this can be accomplished?I know doing this takes some serious technological dvd burning know how…I’d love to learn =)
Don’t be so shocked, as avi (Audio Video Interleave) files can use several types of compression and to adopt several different names due to that, including (according to the link bellow):“Full Frames (Uncompressed), Intel Real Time Video, Indeo, Cinepak, Motion JPEG, Editable MPEG, VDOWave, ClearVideo / RealVideo, QPEG, MPEG-4, XviD, DivX and others”.
Just have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVI
You don’t supply that many info but the one of avi files extension, and you make a mixed use of CD and DVD to designate the disc.
There are many ways to produce a disc that can do auto-play - the process being different if it is a VCD, a SVCD or a DVD. To complement that, you have wais to produce a DivX or a Mpeg4 (and you can use CDs for these, as you do for the first 2).
look at: www.videohelp.com where you find a lot of info, including tutorials, on video related issues.
By the way - it is not a matter of “who can” but who is in a mood to, and has the good will to assist the thread starter.
Hi,thx for the reply.Well about the extension,I’ve just checked them out and it says as I thought it would. Xxx.avi. (Thats not porn btw)Well yeah i suppose that by saying “who can” is a big mistake as I am after all posting in a veteran site here right? So my case here probably isnt that new after all.Pardon me for my mistake =p
Thx for your links and hopefully,I wont have to bother anyone else about my little issue here. =)
