I have a Plextor PX-708A dvd/cd burner with the latest firmware.
I have been looking at the media tests which is too complicated for me to understand the meaning of the graphs. I am understanding from my reading of many posts in here that Taiyo Yuden DVD+R are very good discs. I read in one post that the best DVD writables are Ricoh.
A couple questions arise from 2-3 hours of reading posts here.
Should I buy Ricoh instead of TY?
Are the white inkjet printable more durable or longer lasting than
the silvers? I ask this because I know that to scratch the top surface
of a DVD or CD is a no-no.
So, is the surface of the white inkjet printable more durable than standard silver coated? Is it worth the extra cost?
I know a few people that only buy "the whites", even though they never print anything on the surface.
Thank you for any help or advice you may contribute.
