I want to d/l FreeBSD, yet I’m not 100% on which one to dl. It has a variation of many different builds
FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE/alpha [ISO]
FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE/amd64 [ISO]
FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE/i386 [ISO]
FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE/ia64 [ISO]
FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE/pc98 [ISO]
FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE/sparc64 [ISO]

I’m not 100% sure which of those I dl. Any help would be appreciated. Also if its by computer stats mine are…

-2x 512mb PC3200 DDR Kreton Ram
-P4P800-E Deluxe Asus Mother Board
-P4 2.8 Ghz 800FSB CPU(1mb cache? not sure right now)
-Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB AGP 8x video
-2x 120 GB HDD’s(one maxtor other western digital)
-4x DVD Burner
-Liteon 52x24x52 CD Burner
-Sound Card is some altiris i’ve had for almost 10 yrs but still does the job lol
-PSU is 400-450W, can’t remember

Yep, i386 is what you need. If you have any more questions about FreeBSD… feel free to ask. I use 5.3-RELEASE as my home desktop.

Don’t Forget to double check the hardware combatibility list.

From the specs given here, the only hinderance I can see is that Radeon 9800 series cards are not yet supported for 3D.

I think that also has some minor problems which some games. I can’t remember which.
