My rubbish TX Venus has died after 18 months (it came with PC) and i need to buy a new one. I have searched on here for a recommended list of burners but to no avail. Any suggestions for good NEC model?

Cheers

NEC 2500A…

That seems a good recommendation if the original poster wants a DVD writer that can also write CDs. However, he asked for a CD writer.

If so - I’m curious - why NEC? I’m using a ND-2500A to write DVDs, and if I needed another DVD writer today I’d buy another. However, I’m not sure I’d buy NEC if I wanted a CD-RW - I’d probably buy Lite On, Asus or Plextor depending on budget and precisely what I wanted.

Sorry…brainfart

If you’re talking CD-writer, I’d recommend a LiteOn model straight away since I’m a very satisfied 48125W owner. LiteOn models usually handle copy protections quite well and burn quality is good.
Price level is very nice as well… :stuck_out_tongue:
