Which MoBo?

I have just upgraded a PC to an ABIT KR7A-RAID one of the MoBos to get for Athlons. This was an easy choice. Question is, what is the MoBo to get (w/RAID & AGP 2.0) for a PIII (933)?

TIA

How about this one ?

Nice board…[ul][]RAID is ATA100 - need 133[]On-board sound…don’t need that (no S/PDIF anyway)[]it won’t take my 512 MB DIMM (256 max sticks only)[]6 x PCI slots…I need them![]Intel Chipset (815E)…are best, of course[]Integrated 2D/3D Graphic Engine…don’t need that[*]nice O/C features[/ul]

some people are never satisfied

I’ve searched for a mobo which holds a p3 and has ata 133 raid…

I can’t find one.

Neither can I. But I’ll go for any 815 board with RAID and performance like the KR7A or Pro 2 but I ain’t gonna go VIA, been there done that, LOL. It doesn’t have to be RAID, I’m just after the extra controllers 'cos I can only fit 1 x ATA100 card (the other 5 are filled). I think Gigabyte is looking good but you never see their boards on the Top 40 hehe. Oh well, off to ASUS.com.tw next

Abit has some nice boards as well. And nice to overclock it seems

I’ve heard from a mobo which has 6 ide controllers , but dunno the brand anymore.

Well here is what I found that meets your needs.

Will this also run a PIII then ?

Well I guess I missed the main point
Still its a good mobo :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyways, I found many mobos that support P3 but dont have ATA/133 RAID. There is no PIII mobo with ATA133 RAID I think.

I guess your left out with ATA100.

You can always buy a Raid PCI card. Thats one way to solve it

Here are some manufacturers:

Acard Technology Corp.
Promise Technology Inc.
SIIG, Inc.
Highpoint Technologies Inc.
Silicon Image, Inc.
3Ware

Hightpoint is maybe the best choice. It’s up to you.

I have a Leadtek WinFast ATA100 Card

I think I’m gonna go MSI, although there are no ATA133 connectors for PIII
