Which manufactures are still in existence?

This is a topic spun off from the “manufactures no longer in existence” thread. There’s quite a list of companies that have gone out of business within just the past five years alone. A special thanks goes out to Pepst for providing that list.

So how about the ones that are (currently) still with us? I’ll get the ball rolling here with a few that I know of…

Those are the ones I can think of at the moment. Feel free to add to the list.

What about Optical Quantum? http://www.opticalquantum.com/

Are they manufacturers, or just resellers?

I so wish that Ritek would go under.

Try hypermarkets and supermarkets like Tesco (most of Tesco branded media are made by Umedisc, WFI & DST Taiwan), obscure Asian websites like dealextreme.com (e.g. their 99 min CD-Rs come from Banana Digital) and of course, eBay.
Sadly, when it comes to DVDRs, most of those companies now make media with the faked MIDs (TY, MCC, RICOH).

are called Spin-X now and I’m not sure who makes them anymore.

#13

I recall seeing spin-x CD-Rs before, silver top, I bought a 100 pack of them, CMC made

They are still making media, but their products are not being (legally) exported to the USA and EU anymore, due to a legal dispute with Philips.

Didn’t they make media for Philips at one time?

I wonder why we never have access to these rare and obscure ones in Britain, or indeed America?

The most I’ve seen seems to be sludge from CMC, Ritek, MBI, or faked TY codes. (Though I’ve never had UMEDisc, wouldn’t want to either :Z )

It would be interesting if these companies could access Britain or America, see what these alien companies can offer
