My System Spec r…
Processor: Intel Dual-Core @2.5GHZ
Mobo: Intel DG31PR with PCI-E 2.0 X16 Port
Ram: 2GB DDR2
PSU: 400W
My budget is around 80$-100$
i knw there r numerous cards within my budget then y i’m asking here?
it is bcoz i wnt to knw which is the best 4 my PC, and any1 who experienced a good gpu within this budget…
Card i would like to prefer should be
2.Memory Interface Width should be 256 bit
3.Atleast 512MB
Games i would like to play on tht card would be like…
Bioshock 1,2
GTA IV(atleast at low setting)
Grid etc…
Plz take an account of my System Spec BEFORE referring any GPU…

This question is probably best asked in the Gen. Hardware forum ghayyurious, so I’m going to move it in there.

Would help, but I’m hopelessly behind in knowledge of video cards.

it ws difficult 4 me to choose wether this thread belongs to Gen. or Ques. section…:stuck_out_tongue:
Anyways thx 4 ur help…

This card is the best option I could find. The 256bit memory cards are not always the fastest or best deal, do some review comparing. For the price/performance this card is awesome:
ZOTAC ZT-50401-10L GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card $110 AR FS

I have a Zotac card and their rebate took forever, so I suggest to make a copy of your rebate submission and if several months pass then simply contact them via chat to get your rebate sent out.

If you want to spend a little more and get equally higher performance, then go for this card:
PNY XLR8 VCGGTX4601XPB-OC GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) OC 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card $130 AR FS.

Thx 4 ur effort…
these r really good cards but one of my frnd preferred Geforce 9800GT and GTS 250…
How abt tht?

I have both of those cards in computers now, I also have a couple of the 460’s and they are quite a bit better than the 9800GT or the GTS250’s

For better quality and performance I would go with the 460’s or the 550’s if you can’t afford the 460

what to do if 460’s or 550’s aren’t available in my region…
Then should i go for 9800GT or GTS 250…
As u said,
I have both of those cards in computers
So are these cards(9800gt or GTS 250) capable of playing heavy games like GTA IV, NFS Hot Pursuit, Crysis 2 etc…
Or if i buy 460 or 550, will i be able to play above mentioned games…?

Capable yes

But not as good as the better quality cards

Thx 4 ur advice…
other than GTX 460…
Should i go for 9800Gt OR GTS 250…?

the 250 is slightly better , can you find a 260 which is still even better

I should add here that will depend on the total spec of each.

Nop, it isn’t present…
GTS 450 is availabe…
Should i go for GTS 450 or GTS 250…
GTX 460 is a bit expensive in my region…

The standard 450 is usually better than the 250, if you can afford it go with the 450

Please check the specs on both to make sure you are getting the better one

Look at and compare :
Memory Type:

 Memory Interface:

 Video Memory:

 Stream Processors:

 Core Clock:

 Memory Clock:

 Shader Clock:

And which brand should i go with?
EVGA or Inno3D…?

Check the reviews

I have gone with several EVGA’s and have had no problems, others will say Inno3D are better.

thx to u and all other members tht helped me through my prob…
So after all tht discussion…
i’ll go with GTS 450…
Some guys referred Ati Radeon HD 6670…
Is it better in performance than GTS 450???
If u have experienced…

I personally do not like ATI

My nephew and others think they are a lot better.
Biggest thing I hear is that if you can get it tweaked right it’s good, if not then it is not.

A lot of people can not tweak them very good, from what I hear.

I tried once and had nothing but problems , sold the card first chance I got.

So i’ll go with GTS 450…
Thx 4 ur help and time…

Your welcome

It probably would not hurt to add some Ram, 2GB is just enough, 3 would of course be better

Yes i’ll try to upgrade it to 4GB soon but before this, i think PSU needs to be upgraded to abt 500W…
i Think i should buy tht Card after upgrading my PSU to 500W…

ghayyurious, what region are you in, or what online stores do you shop from? we can help pick a card that way.
