Which dvdrw to my laptop should I choose / buy?

I’ve wanted to buy a dvdrw drive for my d610 laptop.
I can choose from one of the following models:

I need it mainly to create backups of my data and / or copying data dvd’s. The most important factor to me is failsafesness (the ability not to break after a long period of time). The second is the speed (x6 dvd burning is enough). It would also be nice if this drive would be quiet, but if it won’t be - I don’t care much.
I’ve did some research and the gsa-t10n model looks quite nice.
I would be very glad to hear your opinions about those drives.

Then don’t buy a used drive from someone you don’t know!!:disagree:

What I wanted to say by failsafeness is that I would be glad if you to help me choose a model, which doesn’t break often in general, so there is a higher chance that the used one, that I’m going to buy will work properly.

I’ve also thought of buying a new model, but why pay the full price, when you can buy something for the half of it and with the same functionality.

Every data-record program has the “Verify the written data” function on the disk after burning, so basically there won’t be any problems with data corruption if I’m able to check it. I need the drive basically only to do the data backup once per a month or two.

If you get twice the lifespan out of a new drive, then the used drive costs the same - actually more because you have to spend time a second time to buy a replacement.

A good used drive would be a great purchase… the problem is that it’s nearly impossible to discern between a good used drive and a bad one. You have no idea how many burns the drives have done.

I would not pay more than 1/3 of the price of a new drive. I can get brand new drives for about $50-ish Canadian, so $15-20 at most for a used one is plenty.
