To Anyone Who Can Help:

THE REQUIREMENT:

  • To backup a movie DVD as accurately as possible.
  • No requirement to compress, that is, backup at 100%, using dual layer blank DVDs

QUESTION No1: WHAT IS BETTER?

  • Combination No1: AnyDVD + CloneDVD2
  • Combination No2: AnyDVD + CloneCD
Which combination will achieve “THE REQUIREMENT” described above in the most accurate, most complete way?
Is it “Combination No1” or “Combination No2”?

QUESTION No2: ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES WITH COMBINATION No1

  • Are there any advantages and disadvantages in going with Combination No1?

QUESTION No3: ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES WITH COMBINATION No2

  • Are there any advantages and disadvantages in going with Combination No2?

Any detailed, specific responses to the questions above would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to you all.

use anydvd + clonecd = 1:1 backup with verbatim +r dl media

if you want to cut stuff out or compress a dvd9 into a dvd5

like i said earlier 1:1 backup

Combo 2 retains the original layer break position; combo 1 doesn’t. However, Combo 1 allows you to remove unwanted material. In other words, I agree with Hobo10.

Dear Webslinger:

Thanks for the additional detail, much appreciated.
Just out of interest, what is significant about the “original layer break position” ?
What does this mean from an end user experience?

Thanks.
